It has long been my passion to set up a charity and finally we are now in a position to make this happen. We are proposing a new charity named - 'Wild Health' - which is being formed to support the application of zoopharmacognosy overseas in impoverished areas. It will provide funding for remedies and basic first aid, while working to build an understanding of health maintenance and self-medication with natural remedies. This may be linked to existing charitable work overseas or support new initiatives. We already have graduates from the Academy working internationally to promote zoopharmacognosy and there is a need to co-ordinate and fund further activity, which is
where Wild Health comes in. We also hope to have a vet on board in the near future.
Achieving charitable status is an important next step, and to do this we need to raise at least £5000 and show a regular income. This will be achieved in part through a percentage of course and product sales going directly into charity funds.
More support is needed to help raise funds and make this charity a reality. One student has kindly donated £750.00 and others are planning sponsored rides and runs. If you would like to help, please contact wildhealthcharity@gmail.com.
A logo for sponsorship forms and publicity will be available soon.
