Ingraham Team Working at the
The Nerja Donkey Sanctuary in Spain

On November 16th 2006 a team of 12 graduates from The Ingraham Institute set off to visit to the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary in Spain.

Our purpose was to offer secondary compounds to the donkeys; for those who are not familiar with secondary compounds they are constituents found in many plants that are highly active medicinally. They are usually bitter, and are important for health but too often forgotten in the diets of domestic and farm animals.

Our first plan of action was to work individually with the animals offering them remedies that we felt would be needed, however this proved to be impossible as the facilities there would not allow for this. So we worked by putting various remedies into hand held bowls for the donkeys to self-selected as they needed.

A full write up on this and the results we had with the donkeys can be found in the February issue of Organic Life magazine.

I would like to thank The Organic Herb Company for kindly donating devils claw and supplying macerated oils at a reduced cost. I would also like to thank Alan Howell, Shechina for generously donating discounted essential oils and for a large quantity of clay from New Directions.
